Memorize Me! uses notifications to help you learn. Simply enter the facts, quotes or concepts you wish to memorize and the app does the rest. The app schedules study reminders at spaced intervals for each item. The reminders follow a learning-curve to maximize retention. A typical learning-curve has five reminders spaced at one day, two days, one week, two weeks, and one month.
For example, suppose you wish to memorize Newtons Laws of Motion. You can create a category and call it "Newtons Laws." Under this category you can then enter three items:
1) First Law: An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
2) Second Law: Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object).
3) Third Law: For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.
The app schedules separate notifications for each of these items. When you receive a notification you are presented with the corresponding law. You can then press the M+25% button to indicate that you have increased your mastery of this law by 25%. The next notification will come after a longer period of time, reflecting the fact that the law is more ingrained in your memory.
The app was developed by a former high school teacher who is currently a medical student. The app uses free icons provided by Glyphish (www.glyphish.com).
